Lou Gresh has been the judge for the Castle Rock Municipal Court since 1986. He also serves as a municipal judge for the cities of Lone Tree, Larkspur and Castle Pines North. In addition, Judge Gresh is a volunteer judge mediating disputes for the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the sport of Tae Kwon Do.
Education
Judge Gresh received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Denver, where he also worked on a master’s degree in international relations. He received his jurisprudence degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and he also studied law at the University of Cambridge in England.
"One of 20 Who Make a Difference"
Judge Gresh has been recognized as "One of 20 Who Make a Difference" in Douglas County by the Douglas County News-Press for his work with delinquent juveniles. He is a past member of the Board of Governors for the Colorado Municipal Judges Association. He has been recognized by the Colorado Bar Association with its Professionalism Award for being an outstanding mentor in his field. He is a frequent lecturer on the seminar circuit on family law issues.
Past employers
Before beginning his employment with the courts, Judge Gresh worked for Drinkwine and McBride, where he worked on divorce and death penalty cases. He also worked for Berkowitz, Berkowitz and Brady and the City Attorney in Littleton, Colo.
