National Public Lands Day at Gateway Mesa Open Space-REGISTRATION FULL

Saturday, September 26, 2020

Celebrate the Town’s parks, open space and trails at National Public Lands Day. In many communities, public land is where memories are made, and Castle Rock is no exception. Open space is where afternoons are spent exploring, trails are where families stay active and parks are where kids run out extra energy. Come celebrate the outdoor space where we live, learn and play at National Public Lands Day, Saturday, Sept. 26.

Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to noon for a work day to help maintain and repair specific sections of the Town’s newest unpaved trail, Legacy Trail at Gateway Mesa Open Space. Space is limited and registration is required. Social distancing requirements and health guidelines will be in place. More details are in the works. Head to CRgov.com/PublicLandsDay for registration details and more.

Public Lands Day was created to promote both enjoyment and volunteer conservation of public lands. Work on Legacy Trail will include new rock steps and corridor cleaning. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, and an adult must accompany minors under 16 years old. Gloves and tools will be provided, as well as snacks and water.
