Nov. 5 Council update: purchase agreement for property from Plum Creek Golf Club moves forward; new Meadows Town Center mixed-use site development plan approved
The purchase agreement for property from the Plum Creek Golf Club and a site development plan for a new mixed-use building in The Meadows were both key topics on Town Council’s Nov. 5 meeting agenda.
Here’s a more in-depth look at those agenda items:
- Resolution approving the purchase agreement for property from Plum Creek Golf Club finalized – Town Council approved the purchase agreement for about 7.6 acres of non-course land near the Plum Creek Golf Club. The resolution allows the Town to purchase two parcels of land on the north side of Emerald Drive for about $525,000. Removal of the existing pool, pump house and tennis courts will occur later, and future improvements to the site would happen as budgeted funds are available in coming years.

Town Council also presented the Cornerstone Tribute award to Gerald “Jerry” F. Potter. The award gives public recognition to individuals or organizations who have helped the Town reach the goals of the four Cornerstones established as part of the Vision 2020 statement – town identity, community planning, community services and local economy.
Finally, Town Council recognized the 2019 graduating class of the Your Town Academy program. Each year, a class of about 30 residents and business owners complete an eight-week program aimed at increasing government transparency and community awareness about Town operations.
