Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan

The Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department has laid out a Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) to direct the implementation for all parks, open space, trails and recreation capital projects over the next five years. Your feedback is important to ensure that the plan is consistent with community needs before the plan is presented to Town Council during the 2020 budget process.
The Parks and Recreation Department’s budget includes five capital funds allocated for the following areas: new parks, new recreation facilities, repair and replacement of existing outdoor amenities, repair and replacement of existing indoor facilities and trails. The proposed five-year CIP identifies expenditures for each of these areas based on project revenues. Highlights of the plan include two new neighborhood parks, opening of Rueter Hess Reservoir for non-motorized boating and fishing, improvements to Butterfield, Mitchell Gulch, Plum Creek park and others, mechanical systems and finishes upgrades at the Castle Rock Recreation Center, the completion of the front-range trail through Castle Rock and the planning and design for the first phase of an new indoor recreation facility.
Thank you for being a Parks and Recreation customer and for continuing to keep the dialogue open regarding what you would like to see as priorities for your parks, open spaces, trails and facilities.
