Your Town Council meets Tuesday, March 5. View the full agenda online. An informational study session to provide an overview on finance and economic development will begin at 5 p.m. Study sessions are open to the public, but no public comment will be taken. The Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Town Council is scheduled to discuss several items, including awarding construction contracts for the 2019 Pavement Maintenance Program. The Town plans road maintenance on a five-year rotation to improve the safety and longevity of the community’s roadways. This year’s work will be in The Meadows. In 2019, the Town will be investing $15 million in road maintenance. That funding is primarily from the Town’s Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales tax, motor vehicle tax and building use tax.

Council will also be receiving an update on construction of the Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial Park. The park’s design team has been working to incorporate a memorial that honors both Deputy Parrish and the law enforcement profession.

Here is a preview of a couple other items on Tuesday’s agenda:

  • Resolution for a Site Development Plan in The Lanterns – Town Council will consider a proposal to construct a new development south of Crystal Valley Parkway. The Lanterns was annexed into the Town in 2002. The development plan proposes an 848-acre master-planned community, which would include approximately 1,200 single-family homes in both traditional and age-restricted neighborhoods.

Two sites have been reserved in the plan for future private recreation centers. Additionally, a total of 549 acres, or 65 percent of the property, will be set aside for open space and public land. That land includes approximately 14 miles of trails (including a connection to the Front Range Regional Trail), a Douglas County Schools site and a 40-acre park site dedicated to the Town.

  • Construction contract for road improvements at Founders Parkway and Crowfoot Valley Road – Council will consider a construction contract with Concrete Express for improvements to Founders Parkway and Crowfoot Valley Road. The $3.5 million project is a partnership between the Town and CDOT, and includes widening Founders Parkway between Woodlands Boulevard and Crowfoot Valley Road, and widening Crowfoot Valley Road between Founders Parkway and Knobcone Drive. Work is expected to begin this spring and continue through fall.
