Town Council Update

Jan 8 Council update: resolution for a Site Development Plan in south Meadows continued; resolution for a Craig and Gould North Infrastructure Improvement Project service agreement approved

Colorado State Sen. Jim Smallwood introduced himself to Town Council Tuesday and provided information on the current Legislative Session. Additionally, Town Council recognized and presented a proclamation to Deputy Town Manager Fritz Sprague. Sprague will be leaving the Town after more than 19 years of service to assume the position of City Administrator for the City of Lafayette.

Here’s a look at a couple other items Council discussed Tuesday:

  • Resolution for a Site Development Plan in south Meadows continued – Town Council continued the public hearing for a proposal to construct a neighborhood of 58 paired homes, 116 single-family units, on a 27-acre site just west of the Park Preserve development on Wolfensberger Road near Coachline Road/Plum Creek Parkway. Council decided more time was necessary to review the proposal and determine how it lines up with current development criteria. Council is planning to revisit the proposal at its Tuesday, Feb. 19, meeting.

  • Resolution to approve a service agreement for the Craig and Gould North Infrastructure Improvement Project finalized – Town Council approved a service agreement with AECOM Technical Services Inc. for infrastructure improvements in the Craig and Gould North neighborhood. The scope of work generally includes engineering design, surveying, permitting and geotechnical services for upgrading the streets, alleys, storm drains, and water and sanitary sewer infrastructure in the neighborhood to meet current design criteria standards. Design completion is scheduled for winter 2019/2020. Construction of the project is currently scheduled to start in early 2020.
