Your Town Council meets Tuesday, Oct. 2. View the full agenda online.

Council is set to discuss several service contracts including:
  • Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce
  • Castle Rock Economic Development Council
  • Castle Rock Historical Society
  • Castle Rock Senior Center
  • Downtown Merchants Association
The Town traditionally has service agreements with these organizations to help fund community improvement programs, special events and other projects. Please note, these service contracts are currently on the consent calendar and not available for public comment.
Here’s a look at a few other things on the agenda:
  • Downtown Mobility Study – The study is looking at creative ways to increase mobility Downtown for all modes of transportation, including driving, walking, riding a bike, and the physically challenged. By 2040, both Wilcox and Perry streets are forecasted to be at, or exceeding roadway capacity. The Town is looking at options while still working to preserve Downtown’s charm and character.

Town staff will be asking Council for input and direction on the study. Once a final report is completed, Council will be asked to adopt the study through a resolution. Interested in learning more? An open house is being held Wednesday, Oct. 17 to solicit community feedback. More information is available at

  • Resolution naming the new Meadows neighborhood park Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial Park – For the past several months, Staff has been gathering input on the name for a new neighborhood park near Aspen View Academy. More than 700 suggestions were collected via an online questionnaire. Overwhelmingly, the suggestions preferred a name honoring Zackari S. Parrish III, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy, and former Castle Rock Police Officer, who was killed in the line of duty on Dec. 31, 2017. Both a Town staff naming committee and the Parks and Recreation Commission agreed with the suggestion and are forwarding the recommendation to Council.

Town Council will decide Tuesday whether to name the new park Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial Park.
Public hearings will be held on both items.
