Water Wiser expiration

Get wise about water at a Water Wiser Workshop. These are free, three-hour courses chocked full of information on how to minimize outdoor water waste. Since customers who have taken this course are watering more efficiently, attending this workshop earns participants an exemption from the every-third-day watering schedule. However keep in mind, the Water Wiser designation now expires after five years.

If you have taken the class before 2013, you need to retake the class to maintain your exemption. It's important to stay on top of new technology, new products and new methods for watering efficiently.

Are you a first timer? Find out how to prevent the wind, evaporation, over-spray onto the sidewalk, underground leaks and shallow roots from wasting as much as 30 percent of all your outdoor water use!

Register for a class today.

water budget on bill with usage spike

Your bill is more than just a bill

Water efficiency and conservation is at the heart of your bill. Your bill shows a water budget that is unique to your household.

Each April, your Average Winter Monthly Consumption (AWMC) is analyzed and reset to accommodate changes within your household. Your AWMC is used to calculate your water budget and wastewater charge. In the winter, your water budget shows your typical indoor water usage (Tier 1). For the irrigation season, a multiplier for your irrigated area is used to calculate your irrigation budget (Tier 2).

While you are charged for the water you use, there are also base charges that don’t change each month. These fixed charges are used to pay for treatment plants, fire hydrants and water line maintenance.

Please contact our billing department if you have questions about rates and bills, 303-660-1373.
