CRPD maintains a margin of excellence
It might be hard to believe – especially in a safe community like Castle Rock – that as few as five police officers may be protecting the Town at a given time.
At 1.05 officers for every 1,000 residents, Castle Rock Police Department has the lowest staffing ratio among neighboring communities. By comparison, Parker’s rate is 1.31, and Lone Tree’s is 3.47.
To reach the same ratio as Parker, CRPD would need to add 19 staff members. If anticipated growth is factored in, adding 25 staff members by 2026 would take CRPD’s ratio to 1.14.
To maintain its margin of excellence, CRPD needs to add staff, and the Town needs additional financial resources to make that happen.
