May 11 update:The work that had been scheduled on Fifth Street today and tomorrow has been rescheduled to May 18 and 19 due to the snow forecast this week.
Traffic on Fifth Street near downtown Castle Rock will be disrupted for two days next week as patching and minor utility work are completed in the area.
The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday on the west end of Fifth Street, between Gilbert and Perry streets.
One lane will be kept open at all times during the project, and eastbound traffic will flow freely in the open lane. Westbound traffic will be detoured south onto Gilbert Street and into downtown via Third Street.
Electronic signs will be posted starting Friday, warning motorists of the work. The detour for westbound drivers will be clearly marked with signs while it is in place.
The work is dependent on good weather, so any adverse conditions could cause a delay. Check CRgov.com for any updates in that regard. Those with questions may contact Public Works, 720-733-2462 or roads@CRgov.com.
