A 15-year-old Castle View High School student suffered injuries Friday when she was hit by a car while walking to a school bus stop.
The incident happened just before 7 a.m. in front of Clear Sky Elementary School, 1470 Clear Sky Way. The bus loop at the school is used as a bus stop for middle and high school students before school hours.
The girl was crossing Foothills Drive from the north midblock when an eastbound car struck her.
A school bus driver called authorities, and the girl – who was conscious when police arrived – was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The 62-year-old man who was driving the car – and was its lone occupant – was not injured.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Castle Rock Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
