Road improvements are underway for the Town’s annual Pavement Maintenance Program. This year’s maintenance effort is focused on the eastern portion of Castle Rock, which includes the Founders Village area.
The Town appreciates our residents’ patience with the Pavement Maintenance Program. Through the program, residential roads are addressed on a rotating 5-year basis to extend the life of our streets and get the most value from our infrastructure investments.
The Town is halfway through a 6-month pavement maintenance season, aiming to repair over 80 lane miles of our roads. The team faced considerable delays due to excessive rain and flooding since May. They are now taking advantage of the improved weather conditions to catch up. Work will not extend past the Town’s 7 p.m. noise ordinance. All Pavement Maintenance Program work is expected to be finished by the end of October, but it is weather dependent.
Residents and businesses impacted by the work will receive a mailed letter detailing the projects, as well as notices on doors before the work begins. The Town has allocated $18.5 million for the 2023 Pavement Maintenance Program. Funding comes from the Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales tax, motor vehicle and building use taxes.
