[ARCHIVED] Annual pavement maintenance focuses on eastern Castle Rock; open house set for March 23

Pavement Maintenance Program open house set for March 23.

Each spring, the Town conducts pavement maintenance to extend the life of our streets. This work concentrates on residential road maintenance in one of five geographic areas each year on a rotating basis to maximize Town resources. This year’s maintenance effort is coming to the eastern portions of Castle Rock as part of the Town’s Pavement Maintenance Program.

Eastern Castle Rock includes the Founders Village area. Crews will be working on neighborhood roads between April and October, weather dependent. The work will include slurry and crack seal, asphalt overlay, concrete repairs and road reconstruction.

An open house will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Ridge House at Founders Village, 4501 Enderud Blvd. Town staff will be present to provide information about this year’s road maintenance and answer questions.

In addition to neighborhood roads, primary and Downtown streets receive repairs as needed. This year’s primary streets include Second and Fourth streets, Woodlands Boulevard and northbound Mikelson Boulevard from Ridge Road to East Sovereign Street.

Residents and businesses directly impacted by the work will receive a mailed letter detailing the projects, as well as notices on their doors shortly before the work begins. View the interactive Pavement Maintenance Program treatment progress tracker for updates on planned and completed roadwork

The Town has allocated $18.5 million for the 2023 Pavement Maintenance Program. Funding primarily comes from the Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales tax, motor vehicle and building use taxes. More information and frequently asked questions can be found online.
