The preliminary Town Council election results have been posted on Douglas County’s website, DouglasVotes.com. Election results will be certified by Dec. 1, at which point they become official.
The unofficial results show the following candidates as the apparent Mayor and Councilmembers-elect: Jason Gray for Mayor, Kevin Bracken for District 3 and Max Brooks for District 5.
Jason Gray will keep his seat as Mayor, and Kevin Bracken keeps his seat as District 3 Councilmember. District 5 candidate Max Brooks will join Town Council.
The unofficial vote totals in the Town Council candidate races as of 12:27 a.m. Nov. 9 are:
Mayor
Jason E. Gray: 23,831 (100%)
District 3 (eastern portions of The Meadows, Castle Highlands, Red Hawk and Wolfensberger Road corridor west of Prairie Hawk Drive)
- Dean Legatski: 2,065 (45.16%)
- Kevin Bracken: 2,508 (54.84%)
District 5 (southeast Castle Rock)
- Caryn Johnson: 1,588 (37.15%)
- Max Brooks: 2,356 (55.11%)
- Caryn Ann Harlos: 331 (7.74%)
As a reminder, the vote totals are unofficial until the election results are certified by Dec. 1. Elected Councilmembers will be sworn in during a regular Council meeting on Dec. 6. At that time, per Town Charter, Council will elect a new Mayor Pro Tem.
The Mayor-elect and Councilmembers-elect represent three of the seven Council seats. They will join District 1 Councilmember Ryan Hollingshead (western portions of The Meadows), District 2 Councilmember Laura Cavey (northeast Castle Rock), District 4 Councilmember Desiree LaFleur (north-central Castle Rock and Downtown) and District 6 Councilmember Tim Dietz (southern Castle Rock).
