Road improvements are underway for the Town’s annual Pavement Maintenance Program. This year’s maintenance effort is focused on the southern portions of Castle Rock, which includes Crystal Valley and Plum Creek.
The Town appreciates our residents’ patience with the Pavement Maintenance Program. Through the program, residential roads are addressed on a rotating 5-year basis to extend the life of our roads and get the most value from our infrastructure investments.
The Town is now halfway through the six-month-long pavement maintenance season. This year alone, the Town will repair more than 130 lane miles. Rain initially delayed work along Fifth Street and Mount Royal Drive. All work is expected to be finished by October, but is weather dependent.
Please know, due to nationwide shortages and the rising cost of oil, contractors are paving as soon as asphalt becomes available. The Town will make every effort to complete paving by 5 p.m., but may need to extend their daily work period. This effort is to preserve financial resources and remain on schedule. Roadwork will not extend past the Town’s 7 p.m. noise ordinance.
Residents and businesses impacted by the work will receive a mailed letter detailing the projects, as well as notices on their doors before the work begins. View the interactive Pavement Maintenance Program treatment progress tracker for updates on planned and completed roadwork. Check out the map online at CRgov.com/PMPTracker. The Town has allocated $18.5 million for the 2022 Pavement Maintenance Program. Funding comes from the Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales tax, motor vehicle and building use taxes.
