Ditch your vehicle, grab your bike and join us for Bike to Work Day Wednesday, June 22.
The Town of Castle Rock will host a free breakfast for bicyclists (and walkers, runners and carpoolers) from 7 to 9 a.m. at Festival Park in Downtown Castle Rock.
There will be giveaways and prizes from a variety of event sponsors, too. Participants also will have a chance to win a round of golf at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course or Summer Concert Series Lawn Pass tickets.
To participate, just bike, carpool, walk or rollerblade to work and stop by Festival Park on your way. Registration is not required, but those who do will be entered into a drawing for additional prizes from the Denver Regional Council of Governments. Participants do not have to preregister for a chance to win local prizes. Registration is online at BikeToWorkDay.co.
This year’s event sponsors for the Town Bike to Work Day event include Castle Rock Bike and Ski, Castle Rock Water, COFF33, Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course, Santiago's, Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation, Town of Castle Rock Project Green and Übergrippen.
Bike to Work Day is an annual event to raise awareness of alternative ways to get where you’re going. Sponsored by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the goal is to promote bicycling as a commuting choice in hopes workers will try it and form a habit of riding to work.
