[ARCHIVED] Provide input on Community Development Block Grant funding on June 16

Community Development Block Grant with illustration of homes and blue skies

The Town annually receives federal Community Development Block Grant funding to address certain needs within Castle Rock.

Community input guides the Town’s use of this funding. To date, the grant has been used to help support seniors living within Castle Rock and to make accessibility improvements at Town facilities.

Interested persons are invited to provide feedback on the Town’s future uses of CDBG funds – which total about $235,000 annually – at an open house from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16.

Attend in person at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St., or participate virtually – a link is available on the Town’s website at CRgov.com/CDBG.

The open house is being held in advance of the Town finalizing its Annual Action Plan for its CDBG funding, which will be presented at Town Council’s July 19 meeting.

Allowed uses for the funds include to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing, offer economic opportunities and improve community facilities and services. Additional information about the program is on the CDBG webpage.

Those with questions can contact Grant Administrator Karen Storey at kstorey@CRgov.com or 720-733-2244.
