More options for fun and exploration are coming to Philip S. Miller Park’s Adventure Playground as work gets underway to improve the Play Loop.
As part of the work, a new concrete trail will be added along the existing unpaved path. The trail will provide an accessible looped connection between the parking area, aerial trekking course and the Adventure Playground.
Three new play features are being added along the new route, expanding the play experience and encouraging interaction with nature.
The portable restrooms are being relocated out of the parking lot to improve safety and open seven parking spaces. Curb and gutter will be installed on the far end of the parking lot and the trailhead relocated and formalized to improve access to park trails.
While the Play Loop is under construction, access to the Red Loop trail will be diverted to the Challenge Hill access point.
Construction is expected to be complete by July. The project is being funded through lease fees paid by The EDGE Ziplines & Adventures. For more information, visit CRgov.com/PlayLoop.
