Improving access to public sidewalks and street crossings Downtown and in areas throughout Town to ensure people of all abilities have adequate access is a priority.
With that in mind, the Public Works Department has been working to update ADA transition plans for accessibility improvement options along Town roadways. The community is invited to join Town staff and project management teams at an open house from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St.
At the open house, participants can review new elements of the plans and weigh in on the prioritization of projects and areas of Town. The updated ADA Transition Plans will incorporate previous improvements completed over the past decade.
Public input will be used by the project management teams to ensure that proper priority will be placed on updating Town facilities.
Areas of improvement identified through the ADA transition plan updates will be implemented through the Town’s Pavement Maintenance Program and Five Year Capital Improvement Program. To learn more and provide feedback through March 15, visit CRgov.com/ADAPlan.
