On Dec. 6, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Castle Rock Police Department was alerted by an automatic license plate reader that a stolen vehicle was in the area. Officers were able to locate the stolen car at a gas station near Castle Rock Parkway and Promenade Parkway.
Officers set up a perimeter. When CRPD attempted to detain the subject, the subject backed into a patrol car and drove over several medians and curbs to get away. No officers were injured. The patrol vehicle sustained very minor damage.
Another Castle Rock Police officer successfully deployed a tire deflation device as the subject entered Interstate 25 at mile marker 185. Castle Rock Police was unable to locate the driver and stolen vehicle. Colorado State Patrol later found them and the suspect was taken into custody.
The car was a reported steal out of Denver.
