[ARCHIVED] Neighborhood road maintenance begins in April; virtual open house set for March 25

2021 Pavement Maintenance Program

Each spring, the Town begins a roadway refresh to extend the life of our streets as part of the Pavement Maintenance Program. The focus of this year’s program is northern Castle Rock. Crews will also be back in Metzler Ranch and Red Hawk neighborhoods to slurry seal.

The northern Castle Rock neighborhoods include Cobblestone Ranch, Terrain, Castle Oaks, Sapphire Pointe, Diamond Ridge, Timber Ridge and Timber Canyon. The work will include slurry and crack seal, overlay, and concrete restoration.

In the Metzler Ranch and Red Hawk neighborhoods, the slurry seal treatment will extend the life of asphalt and restore the deep black color.

Work on neighborhood roads will take place between April and August, weather dependent.

A virtual open house will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25. Town staff will provide information about this year’s road maintenance and answer questions. The link to participate is available at CRgov.com/PMP.

The Pavement Maintenance Program concentrates residential road maintenance to one of five areas each year on a rotating basis. Additionally, primary and Downtown streets receive repairs as needed. This year’s primary streets include Front Street, Scott Boulevard, Promenade Parkway, Meadows Boulevard, Wolfensberger Road and Crystal Valley Parkway.

Residents and businesses directly impacted by the work will receive a mailing detailing the projects, as well as notices on their doors shortly before the work begins. More information and frequently asked questions can be found online at CRgov.com/PMP. Questions? Contact Public Works, 303-814-6414 or roads@CRgov.com.

The Town has allocated about $11 million for the 2021 Pavement Maintenance Program. The funding primarily comes from the Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales, motor vehicle and building use taxes.
