Report allows community to celebrate 2020’s successes, look ahead into 2021

Report to the Community; Year in Review

Your Town works hard every day to make sure Castle Rock remains a great place to live. Toward that end, several major goals were accomplished in 2020, including:

  • Pivoting to continue delivering high-quality services – and to support small local businesses – during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Widening Plum Creek Parkway between Gilbert Street and Eaton Circle
  • Constructing a new building at the Town’s Public Safety Training Facility

While looking forward to another set of goals for 2021, the Town is also taking time to reflect on its accomplishments from 2020 through an annual publication, Report to the Community – Year-end 2020. The report is available online at CRgov.com/MajorProjects, and a paper copy soon will be mailed to each Castle Rock address.

Additionally, the Town will soon release a short video highlighting 2020 accomplishments and 2021 goals, which will also be available at the above webpage. The Town invites residents to view the information and share in the celebration of the community’s collective successes.

Looking forward into this year, major projects on the horizon include:

  • Completing annual pavement maintenance work in northern Castle Rock
  • Continuing preconstruction activities for the future Interstate 25/Crystal Valley Parkway interchange, including development of an overall funding plan with potential partners
  • Designing a new water reservoir to be located near Sedalia and a new pipeline through Parker to increase capacity for the Water Infrastructure and Supply Efficiency project
  • Bidding and commencing construction of a new neighborhood park in Cobblestone Ranch, and commencing improvements to Butterfield Crossing and Mitchell Gulch parks, and in Plum Creek

Quarterly updates on how the Town is progressing on these and other projects will be posted at CRgov.com/MajorProjects, as well as included in Town Council agenda packets.
