[ARCHIVED] Nov. 12: CDPHE moves Douglas County to Level Orange on State’s Safer at Home dial framework

Washing hands with soap under faucet; Town of Castle Rock COVID-19 update

Effective Friday, Nov. 13, residents and businesses in Castle Rock will be under the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Safer at Home Dial Level Orange. The move from Level Yellow to the more restrictive Level Orange is based on Douglas County’s percent of positive cases; the amount of cases in a two-week period; and hospitalization rates related to COVID-19.

A summary of the capacity differences between Level Yellow and Level Orange is available on CDPHE’s website at

The change to Level Orange will impact some Parks and Recreation services provided by the Town. Capacity at facilities and in programs will be reduced, and indoor sports league games will be halted. For more information, visit

Town employees continue to work – many of them remotely – providing necessary services; others are in the field, including public safety personnel. Visit or to reach Town staff and connect to online services.

Visit for updates and information, including resources for residents, seniors and small businesses.
