It’s been a long road, but slowly yet surely the Town is getting back into a new routine. The Town’s Parks and Recreation Department has been hard at work providing opportunities to stay active during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the return to wellness continues when the Miller Activity Complex reopens by reservation only Thursday, Oct. 1.
The MAC has been generally closed since March. The facility has hosted school break camps and other special programs; however, it has not been available for public use. Now, several amenities will reopen later this week, and reservations are currently available.
Reservations are available for the trampolines, Functional Fitness area, pool and indoor fields. However, the play structure and toddler area will remain closed. Additionally, the furniture in the lobby area has been removed to prevent congregating. Reservations may be made up to 48 hours in advance at CRgov.com/Registration.
Staff is working to follow all State and local health department guidelines. With that in mind, masks will be required throughout the facility, except while in the pool. Lockers and showers will be available on a limited basis. And, cleaning protocols will be followed throughout the day and between reservations timeslots. It’s also important to note that walk-ins will not be allowed. And, children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult while in the facility.

A few additional amenities will also be opening at the Recreation Center. The racquetball courts will be available for singles only play starting Oct. 1; challenge play and Wallyball will not be allowed. Additionally, the basketball courts will open for family shoot around and limited pickup games. All courts will be available by reservation only. Timeslots are available online.
