[ARCHIVED] Spend “these days” at First Fridays featuring the Fooz Fighters Sept. 4

First Fridays at Festival Park

Don’t let the work week get the “best of you.” Enjoy time Downtown, and don’t miss the First Fridays event series. The Fooz Fighters take the stage Friday, Sept. 4.

On the first Friday of the month, July through September, head to Festival Park to enjoy live music, food trucks, cocktails and more. Live music begins at 5 p.m. The festivities continue until 9 p.m.

Known for their high-energy rock concert experience, the Fooz Fighters deliver the same grunge excitement music lovers have come to expect from Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters. Expect to hear hits like “Everlong,” “Learn to Fly,” “My Hero,” and “All My Life.”

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a few changes this year to accommodate health guidelines and social distancing requirements. Perry Street will be closed between Second and South streets. Additionally, based on current State health orders, only a limited number of people will be allowed in the park at one time. Staff will be counting numbers at both access points, so event-goers should plan to arrive early. Also, participants are asked to wear face coverings during the check-in process and while walking around the event.

With food and drinks, live music, and crafts for kids to take home, First Fridays are the perfect night to bring the entire family Downtown. Check out for details on the entire season, or follow the event posts on the Town’s Facebook page (CRgov).

Before you indulge in the Friday fun, the 5K After 5 Run/Walk series will keep you moving through the summer season. The theme for Sept. 4 is the Castle Rocker 5K. Dress as your favorite rock star, or wear your favorite concert T-shirt, and enjoy this scenic walk/run event along East Plum Creek. Registration and more information is available at
