Each spring, the Town begins a roadway refresh to extend the life of our streets. This year, annual roadwork is coming to central Castle Rock as part of the Pavement Maintenance Program.
Central Castle Rock includes neighborhoods such as The Woodlands, Red Hawk, parts of The Meadows, Craig & Gould and Metzler Ranch. Crews will be working on neighborhood roads between April and August, weather dependent. The work will include slurry and crack seal, overlay, and concrete restoration.
The Pavement Maintenance Program concentrates residential road maintenance to one of five areas each year on a rotating basis. Additionally, primary and Downtown streets receive repairs as needed. This year’s primary streets include Meadows Boulevard, Castle Oaks Drive, Factory Shops Boulevard, Valley Drive and Park Street.
Residents and businesses directly impacted by the work will receive a mailing detailing the projects, as well as notices on their doors shortly before the work begins. More information and frequently asked questions can be found online at CRgov.com/PMP.
The regularly scheduled project open house was canceled this year in light of COVID-19. However, residents are encouraged to direct questions to Public Works at 720-733-2462 or Roads@CRgov.com.
The Town has allocated about $11 million for the 2020 Pavement Maintenance Program. The funding primarily comes from the Transportation Fund, which includes revenue from sales, motor vehicle and building use taxes.
