From Founders Village to Downtown, Plum Creek Parkway is a key roadway that connects motorists to neighborhoods around Town. Upcoming work on the roadway will improve traffic flow for this well-traveled route.
As part of its Transportation Master Plan, the Town is investing in the widening of Plum Creek Parkway, east of Gilbert Street. The project will add two new east bound lanes and two roundabouts. The existing pavement between Gilbert and Eaton streets will also be reconstructed.
This large-scale project will be split into separate phases to ensure efficiency. This phase, which involves storm sewer pipe installation, begins the week of Nov. 4. The storm sewer installation is expected to be completed by March 2020, and the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
Motorists should plan for extra travel time as the project begins and watch for posted signage and construction crews.
Work includes installation of a new storm sewer pipe, drainage inlets and manholes, removal of existing concrete and erosion control along Plum Creek Parkway from Gilbert to Eaton streets. Completing this work in the winter months will reduce the construction time of the final roadway portion between Gilbert and Eaton streets by several months.
While crews don’t anticipate any water shut-offs, residents will receive advanced notification from the contractor if they become necessary. Work will be limited to daytime hours.
This phase of the project will cost about $1.2 million, funded by the Transportation Capital Fund.
