[ARCHIVED] Celebrate trails for a good cause at Castle Rock Trail Festival Oct. 5

Explore Castle Rock’s trails, learn to liveBIG, and support a great cause at the Castle Rock Trail Festival Saturday, Oct. 5 at Philip S. Miller Park.

This family fun event has something for everyone – from ultra-distance runners to families with children ages 5-12. With events starting as early as 8 a.m., don’t miss the opportunity to explore the trails at Philip S. Miller Park and Ridgeline Open Space. Or, make memories with the entire family winding through a variety of kid-friendly obstacles at the liveBIG Family Adventure Run.

The Castle Rock Trail Festival courses include:

  • 50K Ultra-Marathon (approximately 31.06 miles)
    $90 ($95 on race day)
    Race start is 8 a.m.; finish line closes at 4 p.m.
  • Marathon (approximately 26.2 miles)
    $90 ($95 on race day)
    Race start is 8 a.m.
  • Half Marathon (approximately 13.1 miles)
    $60 ($65 on race day)
    Race start is 8:30 a.m.
  • 10K (approximately 6.2 miles)
    $40 ($45 on race day)
    Race start is 9 a.m.
  • 5K (approximately 3.1 miles)
    $20-$30 ($35 on race day)
    Race start is 9:30 a.m.
  • Family Adventure Run (approximately 1.2 miles with family friendly obstacles)
    $15-$25 ($30 on race day)
    Race start is 10:30 a.m.

Race fees include a T-shirt, custom finisher medal, professional chip timing, photos and snacks. Packet pickup begins at 7 a.m. More information, and registration, is available at

The liveBIG race was created to help people share the outdoors with their friends and family while also exercising their bodies and minds. All proceeds from the 5K and Family Adventure Run will go to the Town’s Adaptive Recreation Program. 

The Town’s Adaptive Recreation program supports members of the community, and their families, who have cognitive and physical disabilities and helps them live an active lifestyle. More information is available at
