[ARCHIVED] Go behind the scenes with Castle Rock Police during National Night Out Aug. 6

NNO-square 2019

Learn about the Town’s public safety programs, meet police officers and firefighters, and find out about how Castle Rock Police keep our community safe at the department’s National Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Every year, Castle Rock Police join this national event in a continued effort to connect with the community. The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Philip S. Miller Park. Join us for a K-9 demonstration, a chance to learn about the various police divisions like SWAT, our Community Response Team and investigations, tours of the police and fire vehicles, and free hot dogs and hamburgers.

“Our officers truly enjoy working for the community of Castle Rock,” said Police Chief Jack Cauley. “This event is a great opportunity for the community to see what our dedicated officers and professional staff do on a daily basis. It also provides us with an opportunity to interact with the community and teach them how and why we do certain things.”

National Night Out is a nationwide effort by the National Association of Town Watch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to crime-prevention programs like neighborhood watch. The events are an effort to promote involvement in crime-prevention activities. The event is hosted annually on the first Tuesday in August.
