[ARCHIVED] Watch the Wild West come to life as Castle Rock welcomes the Fair and Rodeo

Western Heritage Welcome - July 26 at 6 p.m.

Western Heritage Welcome is back to kick off the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. This tradition honors a time when large herds of cattle were driven through Downtown Castle Rock. All are invited to join the celebration and experience live cowboy entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 26, in Downtown Castle Rock.

Watch the unforgettable show as cowhands drive a herd of longhorn steer from Rock Park, down Perry Street, and into a corral near Festival Park, starting at 6:30 p.m. Spectators are invited to grab a seat along Perry Street for the best views. Following the steer drive, come to Festival Park for barbecue food, cowboy-themed cocktails, live entertainment from the Park County Regulators, pony rides and more.

The Park County Regulators are a western re-enactment show with authentic outfits, replica guns and Wild West style. Be advised that actors will be using blank ammunition during their show that will create loud noise.

Perry Street will be closed from Rock Park to South Street. Please keep safety in mind, and stay behind the protective barriers along Perry Street. Celebrate the roots of our community and help us usher in the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. Visit for more information.
