Summer is right around the corner, and the longer days can leave busy parents with time to fill for their kids. The Town has the solution – Parks and Recreation will be offering a wide range of youth camps all summer long. Keep your kids active while they are out of school by signing them up.
Running from late May to early August, the Town’s summer camps reach preschool to high school ages, with a variety of themes. A full list of summer camp offerings, locations, times and prices can be found at CRgov.com/camps.
The following programs are open for registration:
CSU R.A.M. Camp: In partnership with Colorado State University, R.A.M. Camp is perfect for ages 5 to 15 with four themes: Outdoor Adventure Camp, Field Sports, Fun Life, and Music and Movement. The Outdoor Adventure Camp is tailored toward tweens and teens, with a day of zip line activities each week.
Rock Rec Camp: Designed to keep elementary-aged children busy from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Campers will enjoy field trips, games, sports and crafts, with two days a week at the pool. Named “Best Kids Summer Camp” in 2018 by Colorado Community Media.
Skyhawks and Castle Rock Recreation offer athletic camps for a variety of ages and interests. A great way to get kids outside, athletic camps will be held on the outdoor fields of several Town parks. The three-hour Castle Rock Athletic camps can also be combined with Rock Rec Camp to become a full-day experience.
Specialty camps are as unique as your children are, and offer the opportunity to learn skills such as coding, video game design, cookie baking and much more. Times range from partial to full days and cater to a range of ages.
Preschool camps allow children ages 3 to 5 to participate in music, arts and crafts, games, drama, science and more. These programs have various themes and run throughout the summer for a little under three hours a day at the Recreation Center.
The Town is proud to offer a variety of State-licensed programs. For a full list of summer camp programming, details, and costs, visit CRgov.com/camps.
