Neighborhood Meeting - Proposed Daycare, Downtown Site Development Plan (203 N. Perry St., Ms. Amy’s Tot Academy) – VIRTUAL MEETING

Virtual Neighborhood Meeting:  Dec. 15, 2021, 6 p.m.

Dear Neighbor,

You are cordially invited to a neighborhood meeting regarding a proposed project in your area for a Downtown Site Development Plan at 203 N. Perry St. for a proposed daycare (Ms. Amy’s Tot Academy).  This is the first neighborhood meeting for the proposed project and will take place virtually via a Zoom webinar on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at 6 pm.  Because the existing structure on the site is historically landmarked, the project requires approval from the Historic Preservation Board and the Design Review Board.  The project site is 0.240 acres (10,454 square feet) in size and is located on the northwest corner of N. Perry and Second Street.  The property is north of Festival Park.

The purpose of this neighborhood meeting is to share the proposed project, gather and understand feedback, and answer any questions you may have prior to formal submittal.  Within this notice, you will find a vicinity map and conceptual site plan for the proposal.

Project Information

The new property owner would like to move their large in-home child care, Ms. Amy’s Tot Academy, to 203 N. Perry St.  The conceptual theme for the child care is a “Little Red School House.”  They would like to renovate the existing structure, which is locally landmarked, for classrooms and also construct an outdoor play area.  Additionally, the new owner would like to build an addition that would connect the main house to the existing garage to be used for more classrooms and a kitchen.  The existing garage would be for indoor play.
