Cobblestone/Macanta Open Space and Colorado Front Range Trail Open House
Wednesday, September 1, 2021
Help plan the community's next open space and trail system. Join us for an open house.
The Town has 230 acres of open space in Cobblestone Ranch that the developer dedicated per Town requirements. Additionally, there are 450 acres of open space in Douglas County's adjacent Macanta property. Now, the Town is partnering with Douglas County to master plan possible improvements on these properties.
Help plan the community's next open space and trail system. Learn more and provide feedback about the trails planned for the area and how the property could be improved to provide access to the public.
It's important to note, there is no timeline set for improvements. Public feedback will help determine trail alignment, project scope and budget needs.
Keeping the Community Connected
Work is also set to begin in your area on expanding the Colorado Front Range Trail. The 2.7-mile central segment will connect the Hangman's Gulch and McMurdo Gulch trails. The 0.6 northern segment will connect through the Cobblestone Ranch neighborhood. These are two of the last three segments in Castle Rock that are part of the Statewide- envisioned trail. Once complete, the Colorado Front Range Trail will connect trail users from Colorado Springs to Cherry Creek. Learn more at this open house, or head to CRgov.com/FrontRangeTrail.
