Castle Rock Starlighting

Saturday, November 21, 2020

Celebrate Starlighting downtown on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, Starlighting will look different this year. We will be continuing the tradition of lighting the star and we have plans for a fireworks display, however, we are encouraging smaller group gatherings, as we unfortunately are unable to hold our traditional downtown Castle Rock festival.  Instead we will be hosting three viewing locations and live streaming the ceremony.

The Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event shared by residents dating back to 1936. The same spirit of volunteerism, generosity and love of tradition exists today as Castle Rock businesses and residents prepare to celebrate Starlighting on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  The 2020 Castle Rock Starlighting is Saturday, Nov. 21 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at three different viewing locations:  Castle Rock Adventist Hospital Briscoe/Alexander Parking Lots, Philip S. Miller Park Amphitheater and Douglas County Fairgrounds Outdoor Arena.

The 2020 Starlighting ceremony will be live streamed and we will have three stage locations where it can be viewed publicly with limited capacity.  All public locations have a fabulous view of the The Rock.  As one of Castle Rock Chamber’s signature events, each location will include: hot chocolate/adult beverage booths, food trucks, non profit booths, strolling entertainers and live entertainment. There will be limited capacity at each viewing location and registration will be required. Registration opens Nov. 4.
