Unhoused Property

Abandoned property information

Town policy allows for the removal of abandoned personal property reasonably believed to be the result of an abandoned campsite, so long as reasonable and adequate notice of the property's removal is provided – and/or in cases of emergency.

In accordance with the policy, abandoned property is stored at the Town's Central Service Center, 1400 Caprice Drive, for 60 days so owners may retrieve their property between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays, upon request. Following the storage period, the Town will dispose of unclaimed property.

Per its policy, the Town retains forms of identification and prescription medication indefinitely, or until their expiration date. The Town does not store illicit, perishable or soiled items. Trash from abandoned campsites is also immediately disposed of.
