Make an Impact
Make Castle Rock’s great places better - volunteer with us!
The Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to make an impact in the community. Volunteer opportunities are as varied as the volunteers themselves!
All volunteer positions, whether coaching a youth sports team or building new trail, require two things: a desire and willingness to volunteer. Time commitments depend upon the volunteer assignment, with most volunteer opportunities flexible enough to meet the demands of a busy schedule. Most volunteer opportunities are eligible for school-required community service or Scout hours.
Volunteer opportunities are available within the following areas in the Parks and Recreation Department:
- Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation
- Parks and Recreation Commission
- POST Partners Volunteer Program
- Public Art Commission
- Seasonal and special events
- Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Volunteer Castle Rock: New website helps community show love for Town
For years, the Town has cooperated with other entities Countywide to make finding volunteer opportunities simple, with a centralized volunteer website for Douglas County.
Now, the Town is launching its own volunteer web service, focused on giving opportunities in Castle Rock. The service is rolling out this month and initially will feature information about the Town’s POST Partners Program with volunteer opportunities in our town's parks, open spaces and trails.
In March, postings are expected to be added for roles including athletics coaching and assisting with special programs and events.
More comprehensive offerings that include golf, therapeutic recreation for individuals with disabilities, and areas outside of parks and recreation like fire, roads, water and even the Castle Rock Senior Center will ultimately be added to the new resource.
