The Woodlands Bowl open space area is east of the Castle Rock Recreation Center and consists of scrub oak, mixed-grass prairie and riparian habitat. The system of 8-foot-wide trails that travels through the area is owned by the Town of Castle Rock and the Woodlands Master Association, and is protected with a permanent conservation easement held by Douglas Land Conservancy. Interpretive signs along the trail highlight the property's natural resources and conservation history.
Several paved and informal trails connect from the Woodlands subdivision to the north and south sides of the trail. Users can park at the Recreation Center to access the trails, as well as the Hangman's Gulch Trail to the west. Please stay on the trail around the playground, volleyball and tennis courts as use of these features is limited to residents of The Woodlands.
