This 10-foot wide, multi-use paved trail provides an off-street trail connection between the East Plum Creek Trail and the Castle Rock Recreation Center. It is also part of the Colorado Front Range Trail, which will connect a series of trails along the Front Range from Wyoming to New Mexico. Castle Rock is unique in that it forms the crossroads of the Front Range Trail at Hangman's Gulch. There is also a connection on the east end of this trail segment to Woodlands Bowl Open Space.
Trail users should be aware this trail crosses two access roads for Douglas County High School. Please watch for traffic at these crossings. There are also two underpasses for the Union Pacific Railroad and Liggett Road crossings as well as a lighted underpass at the I-25 crossing.
Trail access points are located at Woodlands Boulevard and the west side of the Castle Rock Recreation Center. Parking is available in the main parking lot at the Recreation Center or the smaller parking lot on the west side of the building.
