The Town of Castle Rock is proud to host a variety of family friendly events each year. From large-scale, signature and sporting events to community-based festivals and races, Castle Rock truly has something for everyone.
The Town's Special Events Committee provides a single point of contact for event management and compliance, and oversees all aspects of special events that use public facilities or roadways. The committee includes a representative from The Town Manager's Office, Finance, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, the Town Clerk's Office, Communications and Castle Rock Police.

Plan an event
The first step for any event organizer is to fill out a Special Event Application. Applications are generally accepted from early October through mid-November and reviewed by the Special Event Committee. Approvals are issued in early January.
All event organizers will be notified within two weeks regarding the status of their applications.
Applications and fees
Applications for the 2024 event season will open in October 2023. No new Special Event Applications will be accepted for the 2024 event season as of January 31, 2024.

In addition to events planned by the Town, there are events planned by several partners - the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Merchants Association, the Douglas County Fairgrounds and other organizations. Town sponsored events
The Town sponsors some of these entities' events. Here are details of the Town's roughly $67,000 in planned investments for 2023:
Downtown Merchants Association events
- Spring Kickoff Concert: $5,000
- Car Show Kickoff Concert: $5,000
- Classic Rock Cruise-In Car Show: $5,000
- Boots and Brews: $5,000
- Concert Under the Lights: $5,000
- Oktoberfest: $20,000
The Town will also contribute $50,000 in 2023 toward staff as part of its annual service contract with the Downtown Merchants Association.
Castle Rock Chamber events
- Douglas County Fair Parade: $3,000
- Artfest: $9,000
- Starlighting: $10,000
The Town will also contribute $31,500 in 2023 toward "admin-event / program staffing" as part of its annual service contract with the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce.
