While Castle Rock may be a thriving community, the Town’s western heritage is alive and well. Don’t miss a weekend of activities to celebrate Douglas County’s history and honor a longstanding tradition – the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. The Western Heritage Welcome kicks off the celebration and is a tribute to the historical Douglas County Fair and Rodeo. Cowboys and city folk alike are invited to join the celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 27 in Downtown Castle Rock. The Old West will truly come to life. Watch as cowhands drive a herd of longhorn steer and cattle through Downtown. Starting at Rock Park, the herd will continue along Perry Street, before completing the journey right in front of the Castle Rock Police Department. Lots of Western activities will take place in Festival Park, too!
