Design nearly complete for Cobblestone Ranch Park Plan
Planning for the neighborhood park at Cobblestone Ranch continues and the final design for phase one is nearly complete. To set a baseline for future development, the park’s first phase will include essential infrastructure, such as underground utilities, an entryway road and landscaping. The design also features approximately 12 acres of developed parkland, which will offer residents fun amenities and form the heart of the future regional park.
Phase one design elements include:
- Entry road off of Castle Oaks Drive
- Off-street parking
- Three picnic pavilions
- A large playground serving 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds
- An asphalt pump track for biking
- Half-court basketball
- Great lawn area
- Concrete sidewalks and landscaping
Once design documents are approved by appropriate Town departments, Parks and Recreation staff will bid the project to qualified contractors in the first quarter of 2021. The bid package will obtain development costs for the above mentioned elements, and will also ask contractors to provide estimates for various alternates. Alternates may include a synthetic softball field, six pickleball courts and a permanent restroom. Depending on the bid environment and overall project costs, some or none of the alternates may be included within the final development of the project. Construction will likely commence in the spring.
