Second round of public input requested as Town continues plans to widen Plum Creek Pkwy

Public feedback has been important as the Town plans to widen Plum Creek Parkway east of Gilbert Street.

The project planning team heard initial feedback in May and has some ideas for possible improvements. Now, the team would like feedback on these optional items.

Join the Town for an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St. Provide feedback on the options before Town Council considers staff’s recommended enhancements.

Town staff and representatives from engineering firm Kimley-Horn will be available to talk one-on-one with residents and give an overview of the potential improvements at the open house. Community members, in turn, will be able to provide feedback on the team’s ideas.

Can’t attend? Visit to view additional information and then fill out an online feedback form, which will be available Aug. 10-17.

With feedback in-hand, Town staff will take recommended design enhancements to Town Council for consideration this fall.

In addition to reconstructing and widening Plum Creek Parkway, the project will include a new roundabout at the Gilbert Street intersection. Feedback to date has led to two enhancements being added to the project: a guardrail along part of the north side of the roadway, and installation of a pedestrian crossing with flashing lights. Additional design enhancements still under consideration are:

• Constructing an additional roundabout at Eaton Street
• Realigning Plum Creek Parkway between Valley Drive and Oak Crest Circle
• Constructing a sound fence along both sides of the roadway

Construction is expected to be phased over multiple years and begin as early as 2019.

The design budget for this project is $480,515 and is funded by the Town’s Transportation Capital Fund, which includes growth-related revenues of impact fees and building use tax.
