Stay up-to-date on those decisions with this meeting summary.Application for a cell tower to be located within Quarry Mesa Open SpaceTown Council considered, but ultimately denied, a Wireless Use by Special Review – Site Development Plan to construct a cell tower on a parcel of land within Quarry Mesa Open Space. The parcel that was under consideration is located in the Crystal Valley Ranch neighborhood - north of the intersection of Crystal Valley Parkway and Mighty Oaks Street.Town Council denied the application per Planning Commission and Town staff recommendations. The Commission found the application did not meet the foundational criteria for industry site selection and Town property use that is outlined in Town Code. Council agreed that the unique character, historical nature and distinctive topography could all be negatively impacted by the cell phone tower. Additionally, staff was concerned about the adverse impacts to the natural resources and uses of the open space.Watch the presentation and Council discussionCouncil approved the construction contract for a roundabout at Wolfensberger Road and Plum Creek ParkwayCastle Rock is always planning for ways to increase efficiency and safety on the road. Town Council Tuesday approved a construction contract for a new project to reach that goal at the intersection of Wolfensberger Road and Plum Creek Parkway.Currently an all-way stop, this intersection will be transformed into a two-lane roundabout. Based on national research, roundabouts provide a variety of advantages over traffic signals and all-way stops – including improved efficiency for all hours of the day. The policy will allow for on-street parking and provides a three-phase approach to address concerns.
