If you’re wondering about the future of transportation, take part in the planning. The Town of Castle Rock will soon be updating the 20-year Transportation Master Plan, and – as a driver, walker, biker and hiker in our community – your input is needed.
As part of the Town’s overall planning efforts, the Transportation Master Plan specifically visualizes all aspects of transportation for the Town. That goes beyond roads to bicycle routes, pedestrian links, sidewalks, public transit and more. As growth occurs and the market demands change, plan updates are important. The plan was last updated in 2011, and a lot has changed. Now, we’ll look ahead two decades to 2040.
To kick off the process of updating this important plan, the Town will host an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St.
The open house is an opportunity to learn about the process and provide those initial ideas. Or, log on to CRgov.com/TMP for information and to provide thoughts using our online interactive mapping tool. Give us ideas on new roads, wider roads, intersection improvements, new bike routes, sidewalk improvements, new trail connections, or transit needs.
Public engagement will be a vital part of this process, and the Town will continue to ask for feedback throughout the process. Then, early next year, the draft will be available for public review before it goes to Town Council for adoption consideration.
