Each year, the Town builds a balanced budget. Work on the 2017 Budget is beginning, and your Town wants your input.
For the past five years, the Town has focused its projects and budget on six key priorities: providing outstanding public safety services; securing long-term water; furthering economic development; ensuring safe transportation systems; providing outstanding parks, recreation, trails and open space; and maintaining community character.
This year, many large projects within those priorities will be complete. Phase 2 of Philip S. Miller Park has opened, the North Meadows Extension is expected to be completed by late summer 2016, and many long-term water projects are underway. Now, the Town wants resident and business input on what’s next.
Join the Town for two open houses: Tuesday, May 24, at Town Hall, and Monday, June 13, at the Recreation Center. Both run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will include the same information.
In addition to gathering feedback, Town staff will also be on-hand to answer questions. All feedback received in written form will go directly to Town Council.
Can’t make the meeting? We’d still like your feedback. Visit CRgov.com/2017Budget to fill out an online form.
Using resident and business feedback, along with taking Council-determined strategic priorities into consideration, Town staff will develop a draft 2017 Budget. The draft will then be presented to Council for consideration. Council will host two public hearings on the proposed 2017 Budget. Watch CRgov.com for updates.
