Virtual Neighborhood Meeting: Oct. 15, 2020, 6 - 7 p.m.

You are cordially invited to a virtual neighborhood meeting regarding a proposed amendment to a Site Development Plan (SDP), known as Canvas at Castle Rock, in your area. Canvas at Castle Rock is a proposed residential development by Watermark Properties located at the northerly intersection of Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek Boulevard within the Town of Castle Rock. This is the second neighborhood meeting for this project and will take place on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020, 6 -7 p.m. via a Zoom Webinar. The first neighborhood meeting regarding this SDP proposal occurred on July 6, 2020. This Site Development Plan is subject to both the Residential / Non-Residential Interface and the Dissimilar Residential Interface Regulations. Public hearings are required before the Town Planning Commission and Town Council, which have not yet been scheduled. The purpose of this virtual neighborhood meeting is to share and obtain feedback on an updated proposal for Canvas at Castle Rock.

Project Narrative
Canvas at Castle Rock proposes a residential development with approximately 102 townhomes situated on multiple open green belts. The homes are proposed to be configured as one- and two-story structures in four-unit buildings. Each townhome will have their own attached garage and private yard. The proposed community was thoughtfully designed to maximize aesthetics, optimize living, and align with the surrounding residential area. Also included in the proposed community will be private amenities such as a pool, clubhouse/amenity center, dog park and multiple pocket parks. Parking, lighting, landscape, and infrastructure will be designed to properly serve the development. Canvas at Castle Rock will be professionally managed and maintained.

Changes to the project since our first neighborhood meeting on July 6, 2020 include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Relocation of the primary entrance to align with Donnington Circle
  • Relocation of the emergency vehicle access
  • Relocation and reconfiguration of the clubhouse/amenity center
  • Reduction of the unit count from 104 to 102
  • Slight movement of some of the building pads to provide for a maintenance easement along the gulch

A project presentation will be made by Watermark Properties, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers from the audience. To keep the meeting running smoothly, the following ground rules will be observed:

  • All participants will automatically have their video/audio turned off upon entry to the meeting
  • The panelists, including the Applicant/Owner and project team, will have audio available to make the presentation and answer questions
  • Questions will be held until the end of the initial presentation by the project team. Once the presentation concludes please use one of the following methods to ask a question:
    1. To ask questions using the computer keyboard, please use the “Q&A” function to type in and submit your question. Please try to keep your comments focused and concise so that as many people as possible can participate in the limited meeting time
    2. To ask a question verbally, please use the "Raise Hand" function in Zoom. This is done by clicking on the "Participants" icon at the bottom of your screen, then clicking on the "Raise Hand" button
    3. For those on the phone with audio only, to raise your hand, please hit *9 on the dial pad
  • The project team will work down the list of questions and raised hands in order and activate the user's audio one at a time to allow them to speak
  • Please be aware that the meeting will be recorded to ensure an accurate record of comments and questions about the project
