In April 2020, homeowners along Rising Moon Way in The Meadows neighborhood approached the Town inquiring about how to modify the existing mini circle on the street. A homeowner petition was completed and verified in accordance with the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program.
The Town understands that residents have various perspectives on the impacts that vehicle traffic has on their quality of life. The Town’s Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program was created with this in mind.
Public Meeting Summary
In March, homeowners in the study area along Rising Moon Way were invited to a neighborhood meeting to discuss possible changes to the mini circle on the street. Homeowners had the opportunity to share their concerns and ideas on possible changes. Based on input received at the meeting, the proposed plan is to remove the mini circle and replace it with a speed hump. The speed hump will be located just north of the existing mini circle. It will be designed so as not to disrupt driveways and allow for on-street parking.
Residents voted and changes are coming
In June, residents along Rising Moon Way voted to approve the modification of the existing mini circle into a speed hump. Residents can expect removal of the circle and construction of the speed hump to be completed in late summer or early fall. When work is completed this will conclude the traffic calming program for Rising Moon Way.
