Roadwork will require partial closures. Thank you for your patience!
As part of the Town’s annual investment in preventative maintenance, Emerald Drive is being reconstructed. Crews will remove the existing concrete and replace it with asphalt. Work is expected to start Monday, April 10, and wrap up by early August.
Access is our priority
Maintaining access to residential areas is a priority for the Town, so the reconstruction will take place in sections. In an effort to complete this work safely and efficiently, one section at a time will be closed to through traffic.
Starting Thursday morning, July 13, the existing closure of Emerald Drive will change when crews move to the fifth section of the project, between Diamond Head Drive/Foursome Drive and Plum Creek Parkway. Scroll down for a detour map.
This next section of construction is expected to be completed by July 24. Then, crews will begin the last phase of the project, which includes an asphalt overlay on the west end of Emerald Drive and a top mat of asphalt along the entire stretch that has been reconstructed. This portion of work is expected to run from July 31 to Aug. 4. Then all work along Emerald Drive will be completed. Thank you for your patience!
This project is expected to last through early August. View below a map of how the work is expected to progress.
Annual pavement maintenance
This roadwork is part of the Town’s annual Pavement Maintenance Program. This Council-approved program concentrates residential road maintenance to one of five defined residential areas each year on a rotating basis. The goal is to increase efficiency, reduce costs and minimize disruption to neighborhoods.
Overall, the maintenance extends the life of Town roads and helps get the most out of the Town’s investment in infrastructure.
