Teen Advisory Group
The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is “collecting” $25 gift cards from Target for families in-need as their annual "Giving Tree" initiative. Purchase of a gift card through Target's registry. That gift card will be mailed within 2-3 days, directly to Catholic Charities in Downtown Castle Rock. Catholic Charities will then distribute the gift cards to their registered families to purchase gifts for their children. Any “extra” cards will be distributed to families for groceries.
Catholic Charities in Castle Rock serves the Douglas Elbert and Park County communities. They provide case management, gas cards, utility and rent assistance, food, counseling services and hotel vouchers. Their office has seen an increase in needs from our local community due to the impact of COVID. Support from the community makes this program possible and provides a special Christmas for families in need.Purchase a gift card for a family in need
Teens, make a difference in your community and have your voice heard! The Town is recruiting teens to play an active role in planning and carrying out Parks and Recreation activities for the community’s youth.
Purpose and function
The Recreation Department has established a group of teens in grades seventh through 12th to assist with the general planning, preparation and organizing of events and activities in both the Youth Division and Town. Youth in this group act as the voice for teens in Castle Rock by expressing their opinions and ideas. The group also acts as a liaison with Town Council to make sure teen voices heard in Town decisions. Students help with Town events, like Spooktacular, Daddy Daughter Ball, Climb4Change and more.
The Teen Advisory Group meets bi-monthly as a group. However, times, dates and locations are subject to change. Meetings are held at the Recreation Center "Lodge" in the lower parking lot by the blue slides. Students must be Town of Castle Rock residents.
Contact us for current meeting information.
Application are due by the end of September.
The first meeting of the school year will be the first week of October. TAG’s first event will be helping with Spooktacular.
