Season of the Star

Back for the second year, Castle Rock’s Season of the Star is the community’s premier holiday event series. This year, it’s presented by the Promenade at Castle Rock.

The six-event series kicks off Saturday, Nov. 26, with the 12 Stops of Christmas
Ongoing holiday festivities happen every Saturday through New Year’s Eve. Get the family Downtown for these fun events and activities:

Nov. 26: 12 Stops of Christmas, 2-5 p.m., Festival Park

Dec. 3: WinterFest, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Festival Park

Dec. 10: Storytellers and S’mores, 2-5 p.m., Festival Park

Dec. 17: Castle Rock Winter Express, 2-5 p.m., Festival Park

Dec. 24: Christmas Eve Candlelight Services, 4-5 p.m., Festival Park

Dec. 31: Castle Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, 5-8 p.m., Festival Park

During each of these events, you can also take selfies with Santa at the Elf House Experience, shop local vendors at the Kris Kringle Market, or take a carriage ride through picturesque Downtown Castle Rock. Carriage rides will only be available at the WinterFest, Storytellers and S’mores and Castle Rock Winter Express events.

All events are free, though registration fees will apply to some WinterFest activities. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Town of Castle Rock is proud to host and celebrate hundreds of events each year, from large-scale signature and sporting events to community-based festivals and races. The Town provides a single point of contact for event management and compliance, and oversees all aspects of special events that use public facilities or roadways.

Get involved


There's never been a more exciting time to be in Castle Rock and the community's crescendo is building. The Town is ramping up its first full year of community festivals, concerts and activities. With that there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Sponsor, volunteer, or be a vendor at one of the 20 new events and be a part of the excitement!
